Nine Paths to One cover artwork with the nine marble eggs

Nine Paths to One

Nine women. One old agreement. A field that has been waiting.

Nine archetypal women — companions to the first nine Sisters — each carrying a marble egg with a sleeping dragon, carved by Doña Flor at Lake Atitlán since 1974. Each moves through a Shadow → Gift → Essence triangle and is anchored by one of the great mantras of the world. Plus one — the Tenth, Aurora, who arrives furious to complete the circle — and a hidden Ninth, Sarah, who carries the last egg home to Matanzas.

“Fundamental Peace is not the absence of pain — it is the transmutation of its energy into love and compassion.”

🌕The Tenth · The +1

Aurora Ribeiro

Brazilian climate scientist · 46 · The Refuser

Aurora flies in specifically to be furious in person. She tells each of the nine what is wrong with their work to their faces, walks out, returns at dawn with a folder and a sentence: Read this. Meet me at the river. Her edge is the edit the whole work was missing.

Mantra

Lokāḥ Samastāḥ Sukhino Bhavantu

May all beings everywhere be happy and free. The closing benediction — the moment in the final chapter when the circle first sings as one.

The Ninth Egg · Sarah

Sarah Dávalos-Wells

Cuban-American neuroscientist, 44. She arrives in Varanasi having already pulled her name from a consciousness paper she knew was wrong. Doña Flor has written ahead: there is a woman coming who is a scientist, who has an Afro-Caribbean grandmother, and who is the ninth. The ninth egg goes home in Sarah's hand luggage, bound for Matanzas.
